Today I ran a different box with Windows XP on a different router and disconnected the phones from the filter. I ran pingplotter, which is like mtr for windows and was able to determine that there is nearly always about 8 minutes between these glitches.
I pinged a server of mine in the US and the local DNS of my provider and did a packet dump. The traffic stops for about 10 secs every 8 minutes. Then from home I pinged the connection in question while again pinging two servers from the asterisk box at the same time, same result. The dumps from both of these show that during this 10 sec period, no pings are answered in either direction (but I see the outgoing packets only during that time), the ssh consoles freeze but then "come back". It looks to me like this must be a telcom issue because nothing at all happens during the pause (rather than seeing packets from the nearest router) Finally I did the same ping tests from another connection with the same boxes and routers, and no interruptions. Have I forgotten anything? I can't see any other possible solution but a DSLAM issue. _______________________________________________ Asterisk-Users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users
