60 calls a day is nothing. I'm sure your Asterisk box can handle it
with the standard Monitor command.

I've recorded many calls, 8+ hours straight and I'm on a crap old
Pentium 3 633MHz system.

What exactly do you fear will happen if you record on the Asterisk box?
