Well, mine doesn't hang up even after a couple of minutes. Maybe I'm missing some important configuration options
Voice-port, sip-ua and dial-peers on the gateway:
voice-port 0/0 cptone NO connection plar 5000 !
dial-peer voice 10 voip destination-pattern 5... session protocol sipv2 session target ipv4:158.38.52.26:5060 session transport udp dtmf-relay rtp-nte codec g711ulaw no vad ! dial-peer voice 1 pots description 73558985 preference 1 destination-pattern ........ port 0/0 prefix 0 !
sip-ua retry invite 1 retry response 3 retry bye 3 retry cancel 3 retry register 3 timers trying 1000 sip-server ipv4:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx !
Do you see anything missing or wrong?

I'm using a cisco 1760 with a VIC2-4FXO card for my calls to PSTN. If a user on a softphone hangs up first the PSTN port on the cisco is released and new calls can be made on the same voice port. But when the user on the PSTN side hangs up first the voice port on the cisco stays open until the user on the softphone hangs up.
