Getting back to the question at hand. I name my VoIP servers after Bell System References
My two toy boxes at work are 'succasunna', named after the 1st city to ever have #1ESS phone switch, and 'murrayhill', which was named after the location of the AT&T headquarters.
My friend named his box after and old Exchange name "Gladtone" :
