The delay in the air is minor. Radio travels very fast through the air. Almost at the speed of light.   It may travel very fast but it’s also a very long way, 22,000 miles up, then 22,000 miles down, then the same all over again. The latency for satellite is about 500ms round trip, that’s a lot. It’s on the very edge of what’s possible for VOIP. I looked at Satellite and decided it was not competitive.   Chris
