I did that once on a cheap linejack card. Took a week to get the smell out of the office, and the bright orange from inside the server was quite interesting :) Only took 1 second to start a small flame going, but fortunately I cought it quick.
I wonder if the zaptel cards have any kind of protection from this sort of thing... And plugging telephones into FXO ports will *not* damage anything, since both the phone and the card are expecting the other side to source battery and ring. It's plugging POTS lines into FXS ports that causes nastiness. -A. _______________________________________________ Asterisk-Users mailing list Asterisk-Users@lists.digium.com http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users _______________________________________________ Asterisk-Users mailing list Asterisk-Users@lists.digium.com http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users
