I think that the differences are in the following messages.
{your vmware}
Input #0, image2, from 'logo.png':
Duration: 00:00:00.04, start: 0.000000, bitrate: N/A
Stream #0.0: Video: png, rgb24, 352x288, 25 tbr, 25 tbn, 25 tbc
{your vmware, if i delete logo.png}
[image2 @ 0x8b343d0]Could not open file : logo.png
[image2 @ 0x8b343d0]Could not find codec parameters (Video: png, yuv420p)
[5476]Couldn't find stream information for the logo image file...
{my machine}
[image2 @ 0x81c0380]Could not find codec parameters (Video: 0x0000, yuv420p)
[5857]Couldn't find stream information for the logo image file...
In my machine the problem remains if I copy logo.png to mcu/bin/debug
folder...
