I ordered my first set from link2voip.com a local area code number($4.50
US/month) and a US50/Tollfree number($2.50US/month). They say on the site it
could take up to 24 days to provision the DIDs.

After hearing of Jeremy's success I signed up to nufone.net. Instant
US48/tollfree number provisioning for free and they charge about 3 cents a
minute. Problem with nufone.net is they only have DIDs for Michigan and
US48(which only people from the states can phone).

I just finished setting up my * server correctly and had a friend from IRC who
lives in the US phone me. I redirected the incoming call to the X-lite software
phone running on my desktop. The sound quality was excellent and no lag. The
server converted the incoming IAX2 protocol to the SIP protocol software phone
on the fly with no additional setup.
