Hi David,

In [EMAIL PROTECTED], Asterisk is controlled by the "amportal" script, which is
launched at startup from the /etc/rc.local script. If you comment out
that line there, it will not start automatically upon startup.

To stop it if it's already running and going crazy, first try:
# amportal stop

If that doesn't work, you can get a bit more agressive:
# amportal kill

restart: Stop and Starts
