Use the MixMonitor app to create a connection to the old system and tell
them -- in writing -- that someone had better spend some time
transcribing
all those old messages. They'll probably ignore you, but at least you
told
them.
Nahhh - write an AGI script to do this for them, and bill them for
conversion services! :-)
Once they're all in .gsm's or .wav's under
/var/spool/asterisk/voicemail, not hidden in some vendor
proprietary lock-in, you can back them up with tar or your fave backup
too.
