Zia,
For [EMAIL PROTECTED] put the CD in and kaboom....it's installed. [EMAIL PROTECTED] comes bundled with extra features such as the AMP, flash operator, meet me, etc...Core is the same for @home version of the core version. [EMAIL PROTECTED] is a good start if you never used Asterisk but again Asterisk is so tempting that you will soon enough try to learn it in dry environment. You can install it on Windows in virtual machine (e.g. VMware) for a test. I think it's a great start.

Just one more system before I go ahead and build my first ever Asterisk Server. What is the difference between [EMAIL PROTECTED] and Asterisk. I know that [EMAIL PROTECTED] is a different distribution but what is the difference in features and functionalists. As a very new user to this technology does it make sense to start with @home as it might have some addon's installed already?? I am not too sure, can somebody advise?ThanksSyed

Subject: [on-asterisk] Need helpHello everybody, I am a silent observer of this forum form last couple of days and want to benif from your experiences. I congratulate on your successes and teamwork.I am a very new lover of Asterisk (from just reading about it) and want to try this on one of my servers. All I need is the IP to IP routingÂ… can someone help me in putting me to the right direction? Where should I start? And what are the best practices.Currently, I am doing this with a hosted switch solution and a friend of mine told me that I could use asterisk and do this myself rather then spending hundreds of dollars on these leased switches. Do you guys think he is right? Can someone help me here?My apologies in advance if I am asking really stupid questions or if I am on a wrong forum. I am just starter starter who has a lot of passion to learn about thistechnologyThanks
