Thanks for everyone for their insights. I have a final question, which I will make more terse. I'm considering buying the GNet / Gentek VP168x ATA/FXS, mostly due to the fact that it's cheap and it's firmware-switchable to support either SIP or IAX. Does anyone have good or bad experiences with this particular FXS and its interoperability with Asterisk? Thanks!
