Well... with new technologies comes new frontiers -- many of these things are not documented because they've never been done before! (or at least not done by very many people). Asterisk is all about flexibility, but its also about being a good technologist. Having the skills pays the bills... and if your bills aren't getting paid, you don't have the necessary skills. Run while you can! Take documentation with a grain of salt, then whatever you do read, assume it's wrong (this means in-house testing -- which many people just simply don't do).
