In terms of operator support, they run the CSR stations based on their client
software and
have the Plantronics DA55 USB-to-Headset Adapter integrated with their CCS
software.
They say it works well. I've looked at this adapter before for softphone
support. You need a
decent PC workstation to run this configuration of course. We've been told
that SIP phone
support for their system is due in September. Aheeva wanted to be clear on
that so we didn't
confuse why SIP phones were shown on the quote diagram. It would be earlier,
but its
summer, vacations, etc. Hopefully that's not vapourware but they sounded
confident during
the conference call.

We are leaning towards having an actual phone on the desk and supporting those
with PoE.
PEI is not known for its stable power, especially lately. The fact that its
Asterisk should give
you at least some SIP phone support, even if you have to do some manual
configuration. I
just don't know what level is available in their web configuration screens
right now. Ask Mario
Kreslin. Most of their installs have been done overseas but they have call
centres in
Montreal and Saint John NB.

Let us know how this goes, will you? I need all of the good vibes I can get to
promote us
buying this switch.
