Hello Andrew!
Ok... I am inspired with this > 8KM link. Perhaps a laser pointer would
help you to aim in less time? Did you just put the antenna of the router on
the LNB of the disk? Do you have any schematics/docs/journals that you
kept - with perhaps picture etc... of this pet project?
Amazing that just how a simple requirement turned out to have SO MANY
suggestions and creative ways on how to do this :).
Can we aim for maybe 150 KM Andrew? I'm SERIOUS! From Waterloo to
Toronto. Though my immediate requirement is about 100 meters, I'd love to
investigate and look into perhaps some sort of wireless link between
Waterloo and Toronto - to serve no other purpose but for the sake of fun and
research/development.
Let me know your thoughts.
Cheers!
Reza.

Yep. I've hit >8km links without too much trouble with an offset dish and
some time. Ok a lot of time... aiming's a bugger. :-)
If you're looking for antennas in the Kitchener/Waterloo area, I really
like
SuperPass... www.superpass.com. The place looks a little ghetto but I've
never had a bad antenna from them and the prices aren't too bad, either.
