Thomas,
Back at the TAUG meeting during VON there as a presenter from the Ottawa
or Montreal AUG, that showed his voicechanger application. It allowed
you to use the # * keys to interactively change the pitch. It was a
pretty cool demo.
So I did a quick search of the TAUG past meetings and found:
VoiceChanger by Claude Patry, and then googled and got :
http://www.lobstertech.com/code/voicechanger/
So that is one way.
What I do, for various voices, is I send scripts to various people,
depending on what I need (language, sex, accent). Then they call in to
an extension I have setup just for this purpose and read the script into
the voicemail, which then gets emailed to me. At this point I usually
end up editing it ( clean it up, cut it up into smaller audios if
needed). Then sftp it up to the server & drop the audio where I need it.

Has anyone had experience with software (open source prefered) that
will allow you to change the properties of a voice?
I've been recording, and preparing my system using my own (using a
tutorial ala ext 205) to record my prompts, however...
It just seems weird to me to be using my own voice, so I would prefer
to have a different voice.. (and the wife so far has refused to read
my scripts for the computer... heh)
[looks around and see's a rather quiet list...]
