I had an idea and I wonder if its been done. How easy would it be to have the * server send me an alpha page of the caller's number when someone leaves me a voicemail? I would imagine there would have to be a delay when the paging switch answers so that * waits for the IVR prompt to finish so it can send the digits. Is this something that has to be invented from scratch? There aren't too many alpha pagers in use anymore so it may not be a priority for anyone else. I think I have the public paging port number so I can get it to send a complete message, but I don't want to take the chance of tying up the port.
