Tony,

With Trixbox you can setup FreePBX to be in "DevicesAndUsers" mode. On
the backend, it's really just a ring group but for your purposes, it
works. You setup a user with an extension, say 225. Then you setup
several devices (say, 10225, 11225 and 12225). The FreePBX devices page
allows you to associate them with a user. When you call 225, it will
ring all the devices you've associated with that user.

Just edit /etc/amportal.conf and find the part that mentions
"devicesandusers".

Subject: [on-asterisk] Phone Line Config

I am trying to setup a phone system using multiple Polycom 501's and
601's. I would like to have some of the phones configured with
individual extensions (that I know how to do). I also want some of the
phones to be communal where each line identifies an individual person.
With the 601's I can have 5 lines with associated names displayed. My
question is, can you register an extension twice and get it to ring at
the same time on both devices? Or do i have to create multiple
extensions for each person and put them in a ringgroup (i am using
trixbox)
