I haven't used it yet, but the new IMAP feature was my first thought when I read your post. There's a well supported, well documented protocol and there are toolkits in just about every language that make it trivial to work with. It would save you the trouble of dealing with the numbering issues. Given that it's a new feature in Asterisk, you might have some hurdles to overcome there, but it would seem to be a more supportable solution over time than something that writes directly into the mailbox directory structure. Has anyone played with the IMAP feature who could comment on the ease of something like this? Dave
