    Hey Richard:

The reason for this is because Rogers allows you to send email only to
Rogers email, within Rogers network. Port 25 is not blocked for Rogers based
email addresses... but as soon as you hit something else outside Rogers
through your own SMTP server (in this case your TrixBox), then it gets stopped
(from Rogers based firewall rules).

    Change your 4162222222 @ msg.telus.com to something like your_2nd_account
@ rogers.com and you will get the sample message. Essentially Asterisk is
trying to send message to another mail server outside Rogers and is blocked
from doing so.

If you had a corporate account with Rogers, your SMTP would not be blocked.

The difference between your Outlook and Asterisk is that in your outlook
you have enabled SMTP with authentication. If you do the same with your
Asterisk mail server to do a smart host relay with authentication, essentially
you are using your asterisk mail server to behave like Outlook. Once you do
that, I guarantee you, your dreams will come true!

    Cheers!

    Reza.
