You're in luck. Asterisk will do this automatically behind the scenes. 1. Define your SIP phone as you would expect in /etc/asterisk/sip.conf. 2. Define your IAX carrier in /etc/asterisk/iax.conf. 3. Create an extension macro to gain access to your iax line in /etc/asterisk/extensions.conf.
This is what Asterisk does best. It does all conversion in the background so you treat all channel types the same and just make the call. dbc. -- David Cook Quoting Nishith Patel <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > hi there, > > Please guide me in signaling translation from SIP to IAX. > > My scenario is as follow. > > I am using EYE beam soft phone and i want to use that > only i don't want to go for any IAX softphone. > > NOw in my scenario i want to register to asterisk server using SIP > and > my voip provider supports only IAX . > > i would like to translate SIP signaling to IAX so when i call from > EYE > beam that call will use SIP till asterisk server then after it > should use > IAX signaling because my voip provider supports only IAX . > > > > so please guide me how can i translate SIP signaling to IAX > signaling and > my call can goes through. > > > > thanking you, > > Nishith Patel. >
