But seriously have you thought about using an Australian provider?
sipme.com.au offer 10c untimed calls to landlines, and pennytel.com do
1.6c/minute or 8c calls (if you pay the $5/mo plan fee)
There is a lot of other providers but I haven't used them or would
recommend them for various reasons, but pennytel has by far the best
quality and I've used it when I was staying in north america to call my
parents without problem
