Does anyone have any suggestions....

I am using Mediatrix 2102 to connect to a hosted asterisk system.
Intermittently the quality of the call breaks down with the "robotic"
symptom. The internet connection is Rogers Business Internet - nominally
8megs down and 1meg up - normally averages 6megs and 1meg. We had been
running PFSense with traffic shaping turned on but trying to eliminate other
issues we plugged the Mediatrix straight into the cable modem but with no
success - we still experience intermittent drops in quality listening to the
other party (they hear us without problem). I gather that the problem is
most likely dropped packets due to congestion on the cable loop.

So I was wondering if others have had any success with Rogers Business
Internet? Or other suggestions?

The reason we went with Rogers is that Bell can only offer us dial-up, IDSN
or a T1 - DSL is not available at our location (Sheppard & Leslie in an
office tower). I have tried calling other internet providers but find that
they are just reselling the same physical plant. Best I can figure the CO is
at 404 & Finch putting us at the edge of its boundary.
