Hehe, yes, the problem is that you didn't go far enough!

I went with the all-digital solution. I've been running my phone service
over dry-loop DSL for two years now off of my Linksys WRT54g running
OpenWRT/w Asterisk 1.0 and have an SPA-1001 driving my analog phones.

No fancy routing; just set it up with vanilla 10 digit dialling for North
America, and 011 for international. 100% acceptance so far.
