I second that!

We have many deployments of Aastra phones. In house for our own use, we
have 12 Aastra phones located on different geographic locations, and 3
different continents where consultants are actively based.

We also have several deployments of IAX phone sets based on the PA1688
chipset. I would not call these phones "enterprise class, rock solid" --
but if you do not mind the occasional reboot, they are priceless in
countries where SIP is blocked at its internet core and overseas rates are
$1.50/minute. IAX has worked EXTREMELY well behind firewall type
situations.

Aastra phones on the other hand have not required ANY reboots, except for
the planned reboots -- and we can provision them remotely.

Aastra 9133 and the Aastra series "supports" telnet, but this telnet
configuration feature is NOT SUPPORTED at the official level by Aastra - and
any TELNET based support requirements will be ignored by Aastra (its made
available only for hacking/R&D purposes). In order to make the phones
"Telnet able" you have to set a parameter first which is not in the GUI.

A couple of months ago, I purchased 10 USED Aastra 9133 phones which were
heavily used at a Call Centre environment for over a year. The phones are
currently in deployment at different sites. No complaints from the customer
at all, where the phones are also being used aggressively.

Hope that helps!

Best,
Reza.

Aastra makes SIP phones, and they are really easy to configure. Web-based
gui, and lots of online resourses to help you.

Canadian company (Toronto based), so easy to get them locally. Fantastic
support (they actually ship sample Asterisk files with their SDK), and good
value (these are enterprise-grade phones).
