Hi Dave,

Best way to handle DTMF is to use out-of-band signaling (rfc2833).

If you use a codec other then G.711 (PCMU/PCMA) the chances of not
properly detecting DTMF tones is high if in-band DTMF signaling is
used.  RFC2833 was designed to overcome all this codec issues.
