Now that you mentioned...  yes, we DID modify .bashrc !!!   In the midst of 
the heavy duty testing I forogt about it completely!   So we modified the 
.bashrc and we upgraded to 1.4.14.

why not just make a .bashrc file with your color codes in and what you
want formated or a tcsh file
that way everything you see on the console or an ssh session will look
how you want it to.
