I have never done this John but I looked at the article and I think it would still work. I checked on SmartHome and they do appear to have a version that looks very "commercial" in brass, solid, tamperproof, etc.
For the controller, could you not put the "to Phones" into an FXO port and leave the "telephone line in" not connected? Asterisk will pass DTMF back to the device and I would think it should be fine. The one possible issue I see is if the "buzz code" has overlap with your Asterisk dialplan features. Let me know if I'm missing the boat. - dbc. -----Original Message----- From: John Van Ostrand [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: January-23-08 8:57 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [on-asterisk] Door phone/Controller Claudius Fortis wrote: > About a year ago or so, I remember seeing a project on Nerd Vittles.... > > http://nerdvittles.com/index.php?p=125 > That's interesting for a home project. I didn't think to look at smart home stuff. My project is a for a business. Should I be looking to a security company to provide a solution for this or is this something generally done by a telecom installer? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
