100% in agreement. Sangoma's got the DSL card. Soekris has the PCI but not enough guts to run the whole affair. There are some decent mini-itx's out there but we are really hurting for a decent fxo solution.

My dream box/device: Hardware: Fanless. MiniPCI/PCI/onboard WLAN MiniPCI/PCI/onboard ADSL modem MiniPCI/PCI/onboard FXO+FXS with power-fail fail-over sensible CPU 8-port VLAN-capable switch (non-PoE) 2 SDHC slots 1/8" stereo line-level audio in/out Form-A relay contact for audio-out "live" Simple LED indications RS232 port for console Sensible CPU means enough balls for WPA at full wireless rate, a single L2TP/VPN connection capable of saturating that DSL link, and maintaining a decent echo cancel on the FXS and FXO ports. I'll even design a power injector for that switch, it's just too expensive to put proper PoE in the standard design. Software: Linux, BSD, whatever OPEN-SOURCE DRIVERS or modem and FXS/FXO SIP T38-capable ATA software for FXS+FXO I can design it. I can build it. I need help with funding and GUI/web stuff. The IP04 and other Blackfin designs are on the right track, but the sticking point is the onboard modem and form factor. I've seen the IP-PBXes offered by others, but it's just not there. Digium's appliance doesn't even come close. Surely everyone else must be seeing the need for a nice small wireless DSL router that has the balls to be a good firewall too and runs something open. -A. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
