With the amount of stuff that has been going on lately (conferences, etc...), and the reliance on having network connectivity when not at home, I'm wondering if now is a good time to start discussing ways that we can bring Internet with us to TAUG events? What about the Bell or Rogers (I think it's the same network and hardware) portable Internet solutions? I even have the hardware already that I'd be willing to donate. It's the monthly fees I'm not too sure how to handle. I was using it for a couple of months when I first moved into my condo, but then ended up having cable + DSL + portable, and it just ended up being unnecessary. Prices are $35/mth for 512kbps speed, and $50/mth for 3Mbps. We don't collect dues or anything, so I'm not sure how something like this would get funded. I guess I'm just hi-jacking Jim's thread to throw this question out there :) I'd even be in favour of having a company sponsor that Internet for us and slapping a sticker of their company on the hardware that says, "Sponsored by..." or something like that (the modem is a pretty good size, and sits upright, so would be a good mini-billboard). -- Leif Madsen. http://www.leifmadsen.com http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/asterisk --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
