I had a Motorola H500 headset hooked up to my laptop with Fedora Core 4
or thereabouts. It worked great apart from having to pair them at the
command line.
Tried recently on Fedora 7 but the old instructions don't work anymore,
the built-in Gnome tools are supposed to do more. Just upgraded to
Fedora 9 but have not tried the headset yet, coming soon. Also want to
try A2DP with my Logitech BT stereo headphones.
Config issues aside, the sound quality was pretty good with NO ECHO.
Most PC headsets I've tried produce echo in some amount, cheaper = more
echo. YMMV
