Following on from my request for help, my friend has done the following:-- .. I pinged sip02.unlimitel.ca and got the IP address. I then replaced the proxy server address with the IP address.
Now the phone boots properly, but the 4 buttons to the right of the LCD display remain yellow. There is no dial tone when I pick up the receiver and when I push one of the yellow buttons I get the message "failed", then "not registered in the LCD display. Incidentally, when I check the status of the phone in the web interface, on the Info page under "Ext 1 Status-Registration State" it says 'not registered" and under Line 1 Call 1 Status it says "No Service". Bill Sandiford suggested that I enable the STUN features of the phone on the SIP tab. I've done this and it doesn't seem to make any difference. Any thoughts you have on this would be welcome.
