Good morning. I can tell you that after some research on my end, I ended up
going Cisco. I'm running Linksys SPA942's and wanted to not effect the LAN
drops in the building, so I'm running the "PC into phone, phone into switch"
scenario with 2 VLANs and everything is plugged into a Cisco Catalyst
3560-48PS (48port 10/100 PoE). I like the setup. I don't see any problems
in my network. We have not noticed any problems with the LAN speeds (and we
are heavy LAN users).

The reason I went Cisco versus Linksys or Dell or HP was that it was tough
to find a switch that would run all the ports with PoE at their maximum load
(15.4 watts or something?). I wanted to be able to plug in 48 phones and
not worry an electrical fire in my LAN room :) Really, I should be running
(2) 24 port switches for a bit of disaster recovery if one should go, but
_that_ was just a bit too pricey at the time.

Also, I was concerned about the quality of the power supply, physical
construction, and the quality of the switching backbone. Don't forget that
you'll be running the glut of your network traffic over this switching
hardware.

To recap, I weighed all of these factors:

1. Brand/Build Quality
2. Availability of replacement PSU's
3. Availability of replacement units on eBay
4. Support for all switch ports @ full PoE load
5. Fast switching
6. VLAN tagging/trunking support

And I guess.. finally..

7. Cost

If you're going SMB/SoHo, I did like what I saw on the Linksys switches.

That's my 2 cents worth..
