I've done this in the past to get into the ticket sale line to get TFC and
Raptors tickets when they first go on sale, but I can't find the script I had
written to do it (was based on call files and some dialplan logic).

Subject: [on-asterisk] "Idol" dialler code challenge

My wife and I were watching American Idol and she asked me if I could design
a dialer that would vote for her favorite contestant as many times as possible
in the two
hour window after the show ends. So knowing that if I said no she would not
believe me anyway
I agreed to "look into it".

The lines are simply answered by a 10-12 second announcement and then hang-up.
It would be nice to spoof the Caller ID ie. 212 NXX XXXX on a random number
basis

This is an intellectual challenge only. Once she finds out how much this would
cost I'm sure that'll
be the last I will hear about it.

It may have other applications though, like stress testing Asterisk or
attacking your most annoying Call
Centre -- (I thought that would get your attention)

Have fun ...
