Chuck,
I'd certainly suggest you do look at TeraGo. I've used them (and continue to use them) in several locations both as a backup or the primary connection. The speed and quality of the connections have been good, and their support people have been generally responsive when there have been problems (not perfect, but above most providers). I would have to say that I would not rate the reliability of the service as high as a T1 or fibre, but as good as DSL. You are getting more performance (compared to DSL) at a good price, as well as symmetric speeds. The one-time install costs compare favourably to T1 from what I recall, and much less than having to drag in a kilometre or two of fibre.

They are one of the few options I've found when you're anywhere in the fringes, besides DSL or T1.

Regards,
Doug.

Yep, I hear you.

The bigger problem is that Bell is currently providing MPLS services to them, major expensive, over engineered solution for them. So, it's all going out the window. The problem is, Bell is going to take a hit for this and loose money. And Bell is the only one we can seem to ask if there is DSL services here or our options. And of course, their answer is NO and T1 is the only option. And of course they are trying to go with long term T1 contracts that seems pretty high in my opinion. Not sure if there is anyone other than Bell to ask about DSL service here (I'm thinking they are right, no DSL here).

There must be other options, it's killing me. I am looking into TeraGo Networks now.

Regards,

Chuck
