My guess is that you'll be needing to use SMDI, however I can't say what
the Avaya system has in that regard. You may need to get an external box
that'll do the conversion.

Folks:
I have about 75 Avaya sets on an old Definity Generic 3, attached via
PRI to my main Asterisk switch. I recently moved their voicemail
accounts to Comedian mail.
Has any managed to get the ^&$#&*% Message Waiting lights on Avaya sets
to turn on through Asterisk?
I have spare PRI ports on the Avaya and Asterisk boxes...just in case
they are needed.
Thanks,
M.
