I have a lab system running an Intel Atom and a Sangoma A101 card (it's
my C.O. simulator). I disconnected the CPU fan so I guess that almost
makes it solid state (no fans of any kind running in the cabinet). I
would say that a bigger heatsink would be wanted if I were to put it
into production, but it's been rock-stable for me (it crashed once when
I accidentally bumped the heat sink).
The only thing non solid-state is the HDD, but there's lots of
flash-based HDD solutions on the market that'll fit right into a SATA or
PATA connection with no drama.
It's nice because you can run a stock OS like CentOS or what have you.
It's as easy to install as would be on a PC. I'd put one into production
without hesitation if I had a need for something that small and silent.
The whole system cost me $250 from Canada Computers. It even came with
Windows installed.

Hi All,
Wondering who has spent some time working with the intel Atom units.
What I am trying to do is find a simple unit that will take a sangoma
B600 card and be able to run completely solidstate.
So, I am looking for some experience with the new esata/USB sticks or
even just being able to install a complete system on USB.
Thanks for the feedback.
