Guys, Not sure if anyone else has ever run into this same problem, but I really dislike doing manual regression testing on an IVR. (i.e. lots of button pushing) And I like how Ruby on Rails has a set of tests that you make and run each time you make a change which means that you know (assuming you've written a comprehensive set of tests) if anything is broken by your change. So, I thought, why can't we do that for asterisk applications.
So, I put together a simple IVR testing application by putting together a couple things: First, I created a simple application using which lets me build my suite of tests using Hobo: http://hobocentral.net/ Next, I used adhearsion (http://adhearsion.com/) to read the test suite in and figure out how many calls to place at a time, what to do with the call (i.e. play DTMF digits, listen for messages, etc), analyze what it hears, and record the result. Of course, adhearsion is connected to an asterisk box for all the telephony stuff. Anyway, not sure if anyone else has any ideas, or if I've just managed to re-invent the wheel... Johannes
