Lloyd,
I'd suggest you look at building the bridge using freeswitch. (
http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Mod_conference ). This is one area that
FS really out shines Asterisk. There are a few things that are pretty
easy to do in FS that are either very hard or not possible with asterisk.
Examples : - interactively add and control (pause, rewind) an
audio stream
- have the conf bridge dial out to attendees
Also, asterisk may have issues handling 500 meetme channels on a single
box, but I could be wrong.
