Henrey I went thru the same problems!

I couldnt get SSL to work (I was missing packages on my linux box) so I couldnt
use Gmail.

I ended up installing ssmtp as my mail program. I am using more as a mail
relay...

Linux box --> Rogers --> Outside world

SMTP: smtp.broadband.rogers.com
***You will need to use a username / password***

Next you need to configure another account / domain to be used
1) Log into your rogers yahoo mail account
2) Click on options > mail options
3) Select the accounts tab
4) Add or Edit Account
5) Add the account you want you mail to appear to come from, mine is
"[email protected]"

I can post my config files if it helps / you switch to ssmtp.

Subject: [on-asterisk] Postfix with Rogers

Hi all, before I lose all my hair, can anybody help me get my email up and
running on an asterisk (Freepbx) system ?

I removed Sendmail and replaced it with Postfix because it's easier to
configure.
(Email is a mystery to me).
Rogers is blocking the SMTP port (25) so I can't directly SMTP using their
server.
Do I need to use a relay and can I use my existing email account hosted with
Google?
The Asterisk box uses a Dynamic domain address (i.e.mydomain.dyndns.biz)

All I need to do is send email with the attached vmail files why is it so
difficult to configure?
