Both kamailio and opensips are having the B2B functionality:
http://www.opensips.org/html/docs/modules/1.6.x/b2b_logic.html
http://kamailio.org/docs/modules/3.0.x/modules/topoh.html
Both servers are stable and able to deal with huge number of cps and
simultaneous calls.
It all depends what you want to achieve and based on that, you can choose a
solution.
I have used with great success both kamailio and opensips as front-end
SBC/ALG (without B2B fuctionality) for asterisk clusters. The combination
is very stable.
Yate is a very good product but I haven't used it because I'm more familiar
with the openser proxy server and for what I needed, I was able to achieve
using openser.

Hello Ovidiu:
Thank you for your response. We've used Kamailio as a SIP server at
one time, but was cautioned not to use it as an SBC. If we can use
Kamailio as an SBC - then why not have just a plain Asterisk system,
super tweaked with security - and use that as an SBC?
" A true SBC - Back to Back User Agent - terminates a sip call on one
side and originates a new call on the other side. " -- is what I
gather from some basic research and what I really need.
I am some what convinced to go with Yate as I've heard great things
about it and know of an installation simultaneously handling thousands
of calls. I've heard GREAT things about Kamailo - but then again, I
have not seen an ACTUAL system doing what it claims it can do.
Reading and hearing good stuff is all good, but actually seeing
something in action is even better & provides that extra psychological
assurance and comfort level.
What are your thoughts?
Best,
Reza.

Openser (opensips/kamailio) servers are successfully deployed as SBCs in

It can act as a registrar and dispatcher for the asterisk cluster. Also
it
works perfectly as an lcr router.

Is anyone here using SBC to work along side your demanding asterisk
clusters? Other than using Freeswitch & Yate as your SBC, what other
open source alternatives do you recommend and why?
