Mentioning you did install asterisk through yum repository, you will need to chown everything to asterisk.asterisk to make your life simpler in future. However, that is not the cause of connection failed for you. I'd maintain that you have a connection problem to mysql related to your configs. Since you installed mysql yourself through yum, have you assigned a password to root user at all? and during A2Billing installation did you use that password? Can you login with this or does it ask you for a password?: mysql -uroot -p Also, please post the section of the installation guide that you mentioned which relates to creating an A2Billing mysql user, and installing the a2billing schema. Connection failed that shows for you is not part of the A2Billing code but rather spit out by Mysql itself so it's a very definite message. -Bruce
