Mark,
There are numerous issues with the technology starting from different accents, to background noise and to even getting it to work with Asterisk. It's been 2 days that I have been working on the "Zanzibar Open IVR" as suggested on Asterisk user list out of the many (that were useless or paid) and I haven't been even able to it to communicate to Asterisk. They are all based on Java and there is no easy, straight forward way of installing it onto your Asterisk box. I guess it's just another beast just almost as big as Asterisk is if you want to work it in rather complex environment. In fact, some solutions require the help of a linguist and continuous research and adaption over the years to get to where it's acceptable. If you get Zanzibar Open IVR working, I will be really happy to see your guide on how to make it work. But, that should be a good start for you. I have got words that it works "perfectly" with basic Yes, No, and digits. http://www.spokentech.org/ P.S. Don't get discouraged, as the Google Directory (1-800-GOOG-411) is a very good example of a nicely working Speech Recognition system. -Bruce > Date: Wed, 1 Sep 2010 15:49:03 -0400 > From: [email protected] > To: [email protected] > Subject: [on-asterisk] Asterisk Voice Recognition > > Has anyone worked with voice recognition, for dialing, ivr menus, etc. > > If so - what are the tool sets that you used, and what were some of the > pitfalls - if any. > > I'm mostly thinking of open source tool sets, but I suppose commercial > offerings are interesting too. > > Thanks all > > /Mark > > --------------------------------------------------------------------- > To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] > For additional commands, e-mail: [email protected] >
