This may be over kill (don't need the great graphics included), but it
works great.

Only downside is the wireless sucks on it. But besides that, is silent,
draws very little power and can handle a standard install. I've not
installed asterisk on it, but we have run it on centOS 5.5 with
freeswitch, with mySQL and it had no issues. We did not load test it but
it met our needs at handling our required load of 16 simultaneous calls.
It is currently running LinuxMINT, connected to my 42" TV. :)

Another alternative is the 7" Eeepc netbooks, they chew about 5W of
power and can be grabbed off ebay for about $100 second hand.
