We have played with almost each and every wifi portable SIP phone in the
market today. Including the SIP DECT phone's -- which is not really
WiFi, but is wireless portable 2.4 Ghz and the 5.8 Ghz phones. NONE to
our experience is worth the money spent. At a factory we merely
connected industrial grade and consumer grade 5.8 Ghz DECT phones to
either ATA's or a 8/12 port FXS (Audio Codes, Grandstream etc).
The ONLY phone(s) WiFi which stood up to our standards in an office
scenario is the Samsung S Android phone, which has a built in SIP client
that runs both in WiFi and 3G mode - and the battery power on the
Samsung S series with Wifi turned on ranges anywhere between 15-24 hours
on standby and a good few hours talk time.
Cheers!
Reza.
