Listening to Security Now podcast and learned about this search engine
www.ShodanHQ.com <http://www.shodanhq.com/>, which is a search engine
of exposed devices to the
internet that hackers are using.
I typed in asterisk and it identified 24062 IP addresses of which 1055
were
in Canada.
I did a search for: polycom country:CA city:"Toronto" and came up with 36
exposed devices. One was a Polycom HDX video conferencing system in a
large
companies boardroom, which had many other end points around the world in
it's directory.
Pretty scary.
You may want to search for your IP ranges to see what comes up,
luckily for
my IP ranges just my webserver came up.
