I have a client that appears to be ready to seriously consider a switch from
Nortel BCM to Asterisk, but I need to be able to get their Nortel i2004 (NTDU92
IP Phones base on UNISTIM) working reliably for them to even think about it.

I have borrowed a couple of phones, setup a PiaF install with Asterisk 1.8 and
edited the Unistim config file... The phones register/ring, but no sound on
either end. I suspect it is PiaF/Asterisk 1.8 and haven't had a chance to spend
more time on it yet.

Before I go further, has anyone successfully implemented a larger installation
(approximately 35-50 phones) with these? I eventually will get rid of them, but
they need to run reliably/perfectly out of the gate for a year or two as we
phase them out. Any other ideas?

Their current provider wants them to upgrade to a BCM-450 and buy more
phones... I want to avoid that dead end if I can help it.

Regards,

Chuck Mariotti
