My brother relocated to France for a year... to ease the transition there and
back, I ported his home phone to VoIP and sent him off with a Cisco SPA-3102
ATA preconfigured and he took his home cordless phone (Uniden) to use. The idea
being he keeps his Toronto phone number and can make/receive calls locally.

Of course, he's telling me that he just fried the Power supply plugging in
phone to the power. No clue if the phone itself got fried.

Either way, my questions are:

1. Does anyone know if the ATA needs to be setup any different when using
a phone purchased in france?

2. Are the phone plug connectors any different in france?

3. Any other issues I need to consider?

Basically he wants to just purchase a cheap phone and plug that in instead of
trying to locate or fix the old power supply.

Regards,

Chuck
