yes, 1NPA is 1, then area code. Are you saying your telco won't connect you based on your complete number if you are in the local area? That seems strange.

It won’t work for me to 10 digit dial (i.e. 18085551212) because the way our area code is split if you dial the area code the telco tries to connect you to a neighbor island, rather than the local island.

When I try to 7 digit dial I get “Cause: Invalid number format (28)” in the PRI Debug. I wonder if I have something misconfigured in the CHAN_DAHDI.CONF file?

I've actually seen that before on an XO ISDN-PRI. I fixed it by having asterisk add the 1NPA to the front (i.e. dial(dahdi/g1/1313${EXTEN}) )

It wasn't an elegant solution but it worked. For some reason the PRI didn't like the 7 digit dialing.

AsteriskNOW 1.4.26.2 with a Digium TE205P connected to an ISDN PRI (single span). I’m sure I just have something goofed up in the dialplans? I have a bunch of Polycom 331 IP phones connecting to the server. I can dial the other extensions in the system fine and I can dial long distance outgoing but cannot seem to get it to dial local (7 digit) calls.

Also when I check the PRI DEBUG I see an Error 28 which indicates an invalid number format. But I’m just sending 5551212, which should be o.k.

I’m a newbie at this…any suggestions welcomed.
