Kristian,

having assumed that we would not be the first guys (or ladies...) to port
screen to uClibc, I did a short search - et voilá: there is a patch available
with OpenWRT that makes it compile nicely (i.e., not complain about being
cross compiled). I cannot judge of the final function at the moment, but I
assume you have a test bed ready. Try:

https://svn.openwrt.org/openwrt/branches/whiterussian/openwrt/package/screen/patches/100-cross_compile_fix.patch

call it "screen-cross_compile_fix.patch" for consistency,

and just add the standard patchme line to
astlinux-dev/package/screen/screen.mk for ...unpacked (to be line 19):

toolchain/patch-kernel.sh $(SCREEN_DIR) package/screen/ screen-*.patch
